Recent changes to My Aged Care

The Australian Government recently launched the new Support at Home program including separate funding for assistive technology and home modifications to support older people living at home.

The EnableNSW team has become aware of new exclusions to products and equipment provided. Please be advised EnableNSW is unable to take responsibility for items no longer accessible through My Aged Care funding. The Commonwealth My Aged Care website provides assurances that people on packages will not be worse off with these new changes.

We are pleased to confirm that despite some confusion, the Oxygen supplement is still available and can be accessed by Aged Care Providers in the usual way.

For any escalations, particularly where items have been previously accessed through My Aged Care packages, clinicians together with their patients are encouraged to escalate any new gaps through available my aged care pathways.

The EnableNSW eligibility indicator and application form will soon be updated to reflect these changes. Clinicians are reminded to check the EnableNSW eligibility indicator before applying to EnableNSW.
