Frequently Asked Questions

What if the self-care and mobility equipment I am looking for is not listed on the EnableNSW Online catalogue?

If there are no clinically suitable equipment options available in the standard stock range, select items from the relevant NSW Government contract and provide additional clinical justification detailing the need for the contract item on the request. A quick reference guide (QRG) is available for each contract on the EnableNSW contracts page.

If the item is not available through stock or contract, contact the Advisor on Call to discuss on 1800 362 253.

Can I request two of the same type of equipment?

No, you should select the item which is most suitable for the person’s needs based on your assessment. In instances where you are unsure of a sling/pressure cushion size, you may request two, however the item which is not suitable must be returned to EnableNSW by contacting the team to arrange collection.

What happens if the stock equipment delivered is not suitable?

If the equipment from the standard stock range is not suitable, the clinician should email HSNSW-enable@health.nsw.gov.au

The email should specify:

  • person’s name and date of birth
  • the reason for the change
  • a suitable replacement item from the standard stock range with the relevant SKUID number (replaces part number)
  • a request to pick up the equipment that needs to be returned.

If the standard stock equipment requires additional features or accessories, what are my options?

If an attachable feature and/or accessory is not available through the standard stock range, add the required item to the relevant equipment request form (ERF) with a quote and provide additional clinical justification detailing the need for this feature/accessory. For example: stump support, different pelvic belt, headrest, oxygen bottle carrier. If assistance is required, please contact the EAP team at EnableNSW on 1800 362 253 (option 5).

Does the band 1 co-payment apply to all standard stock equipment requests no matter where the person lives in NSW?

Yes, if the person is approved for an item from the standard stock range, they are only required to pay the $100 co-payment, regardless of their income band.

Learn more about income bands on the eligibility and financial criteria page.
