Mobility scooters
A range of scooters are available through the EnableNSW Equipment Allocation Program for delivery across NSW
To request a scooter:
- review standard stock available in the online catalogue or via EnableNSW Online system
- submit the request:
- through EnableNSW Online if you are a NSW health clinician OR
- complete the scooter request form (PDF) if you are a private clinician who cares for patients in a private clinical setting AND
- attach a medical questionnaire (PDF) completed by the person’s general practitioner
- an EnableNSW application form is also required every two years.
A trial of the scooter occurs at the time of delivery with the clinician present
- The supplier who delivers the scooter is funded to spend up to 2 hours with you and your client to complete the trial.
- You will undertake an assessment and trial of the scooter ensuring it meets the person’s clinical need and that they are safe using the scooter in their local community.
- If you assess the person to be unsafe, the scooter will be taken away by the supplier and returned to the EnableNSW Equipment Centre. Please let our team know if this happens by calling 1800 362 253 or sending an email to enable@health.nsw.gov.au
